Blancathra +Club Fell Championship

For the benefit of those unaware, this years Keswick AC fell championship is structured such that your best TWO races, from THREE in total, determine the end of season championship table...This was decided at the club AGM.

Therefore with the SECOND race next week, Blencathra (june 4th) anyone who was unable to race at Sailbeck can still qualify for the champs, or indeed win the champs, and vet categories.

The remaining races...Blencathra, june 4th 7pm, 8m/2700'
...Dale Head, sept 21st 2pm 4.5m/2210'

Championship tables will be posted following Blencathra as usual for you to see how many points adrift of your clubmates you stand, or how slender your lead!

Derwentwater Race Details: You can enter this even if you aren’t coming to the BBQ. Over 16s only please, unless accompanied. Assemble at Glendale to register & get your number before 10:45am, for jog to start in the Park by the tennis courts. The route is planned to avoid the town crowds. The finish will be from Borrowdale Road footpath through Castleheads Wood, across Springs Road and back to Glendale. See map on Club website. The whole route is on footpaths or tracks. No road running allowed! Distance approx 9 miles; it’s flat, & hopefully with no water section this year. Free entry.

Blencathra - Wednesday 4th June

With Blencathra only a couple of weeks away is anyone planning to do a recce?. There are several good route choices plus a couple of easy places to get lost in mist. I am willing to take anyone round but it may be an overnight stay with the way I am at the moment!. As the club championship could well be decided at the race those in contention should make the effort to go round at least once beforehand.

Pete.
